 Raleigh, North Carolina (January 29, 2010) – Consumer Education Services Inc. (“CESI”) has found out that there has been a company that has been advertising and marketing to consumers under the name “CESI Debt Solutions” that claims to provide loans and other services out of Tennessee.  We understand its sales representatives encourage potential customers to apply for their services, by providing information such as their Social Security Number, residential address, primary telephone number and other information, as well as a setup fee.  We also understand the company is using a logo that is similar to CESI’s trademark.  

CESI believes that CESI Debt Solutions is a fraudulent company and consumers are warned that by providing such sensitive information and money they may become victims.  

CESI d/b/a CESI Debt Solutions is located in North Carolina.  CESI is not related to CESI Debt Solutions of Tennessee.  CESI is a credit counseling agency and does not make loans to consumers or offer loans on behalf of third-party companies.  We have taken immediate measures to investigate this matter, and are providing this consumer alert, as part of our efforts to help consumers avoid being affected by fraudulent offers for products and services.
