When it comes to planning and saving, not everyone understands the importance. True things get tough and you don’t want to put away the 10% that should be put in savings away. Why do people do this? Well, when it comes to saving you always think what if I need it. You are right what if you do need it. If you save the money then when you need it, it will be there. For instance, I wasn’t expecting to take my car into the shop this week for new brakes. However, since i do my best to save a little out of each check I had the money I needed to get my brakes done. You also want to remember whenever you are planning and saving, make sure you do your research. You don’t just want to go anywhere, make sure you go where you would get the best deals. Try to look at the big picture not the immediate one.

Do you know about the rule of 70? This rule tells you how quickly you can make a sum of money double by investing. What you do is divide 70 by an expected rate of return you can get on your money. The historical rate of return for the U.S. stock market has been right around 10%. So, theoretically, if you invested in the market and got that level of return, your money would double every 7 years. Just think, if you start investing early, that could really pile up over the years. It’s never too early to think about your future.
